One of the first steps in planning your new shed is getting a quote. But to get an accurate price will we need to ask a few questions. Of course, if you don’t know the answer to these questions we’ll be able to guide you towards a decision that will suit you.
- What is the site like? Is it level or sloping? Will we have 3m access to the site?
- What size shed are you after? We need width, length and height.
- Gable roof or skillion? A gable roof has two sloping sides that meet in a triangular shape. A skillion roof slopes in one direction.
- Monoclad or corro? Corro is the traditional rounded sheeting, Monoclad is the square profile.
- How many roller doors? What size? Do you want motors as well?
- How many doors and windows? It’s good to have a PA (personal access) door or sliding door. Windows offer good cross ventilation.
- Do you want insulation? Almost a must-have for our climate. Consider the position of your shed when deciding to go with roof-only insulation, roof and walls, or roof and certain walls (those that get the most sun).
- Any other inclusions? Vermin-proofing is to keep out unwanted visitors (sorry, doesn’t work for kids or inlaws). Skylight panels let in extra light. Whirlybirds help bring down the temperature.
- Kit-only or construction? If you’re handy on the tools (or know someone who is) we can supply your shed as kit-only. If you’re keen for us to organise the whole process (including council, kit, concrete and construction) then we can do that too!
